Road trip!

These photos were taken on our road trip to Prague! The weather was pretty grey and dull most of the way so no matter where we tried to take pictures, it just didn't look too good at all! Eventually, we bit the bullet and stopped near this small town somewhere in Germany and just did what had to be done!

As the drive down took us about 6 hours, I knew I would need to have something comfy on – 6 hours in a car is not ideal so its important to make sure you make it as easy as possible! I went for leggings, a loose top and a sweater. Considering how grey and dull the day was I thought the outfit needed a splash of colour, hence the neon scarf!

You might also notice that I finally managed to get the Ombre done – I’d been thinking about having this done for ages and when I did it was also a bit difficult to get it right, the way I wanted it! I tried one place but it just didn't work out right – you could barely see any difference….pretty pointless! So I tried a second place and luckily they got it right! I didn't really want very blond ends, hoping for a more delicate Ombre with lighter shades of brown, so I was much happier with the second effort!
Hope you Guys like it!

Oscars 2013 - who rocked the Red Carpet looks!

Hello Lovely people! Did you watch the Oscars last night?? Well, I didn't last night but I managed to watch it today without seeing any spoilers ;) I'm really quite proud of myself, it was hard not to see anything beforehand but all I had to do was to avoid any radio, TV, internet or friends…not too hard, right?;)
I'm not going to tell you about the Winners, as I'm sure you've already heard, or read the news on that part. I just want to take you through the gowns of the night, as that's what interests me the most;)
Most definitely the best and the most popular type of dresses were the ones that were shinning brighter than the stars :) Sparkle, sparkle and more sparkle that was clearly the theme for the night:)

Nicole Kidman - she just keeps getting better and better. Her beautiful figure and amazing taste always makes her look very glamorous.

Naomi Watts - just stunning! In my opinion one of the best dressed people on the red carpet this year. I love the futuristic shape and the colour is perfect for Naomi.

Laura Spencer - with the hair, the straight cut of the dress in a pale colour, the sequinned texture together create the perfect amount of glam :)

Hally Berry in Versace - I'm rather in two minds about this dress. I do love her look, it's definitely much better than what she wore at the Golden Globes, even if there is a little bit of Star Trek action going on here ;)

George's Clooney girlfriend - Stacy Kiebler rocked in this Naeem Khan dress. It's not a shape for everyone but she pulled it off, matching it with a perfect hair style that brings out the Old Hollywood Glamour look :)

There were also ladies that went for simpler and very classy looks and I think they rocked it too :)

Charlize Theron - No words needed…but I will still say this: she is just gorgeous, and every time I think she can't look any better she pulls something like this and leaves me speechless.

I love her dress though some may say it's a bit dull, especially with all those sparkles walking around ;)
I still think there is something about this dress. It's simple, but at the same time a bit futuristic with the front cuts, which makes it very glamorous.

Samanta Barks - as much as I like it, I do think this ensemble is slightly too modest for the Oscars. Maybe if she put her hair down with glamorous waves and added some statement clutch or jewelled it up better, she might have gotten away with it.

And here are my favourite gowns of the night:

Kerry Washington is my favourite girl of them all :) Every time she appears on the red carpet she looks stunning and very original at the same time. She always surprises us with beautiful and very delicate gowns that suit her perfectly. She seems to go for Miu Miu dresses that always look perfect on her.

Zoe Saldana is so beautiful that it would be hard for her to go wrong;) I absolutely adore her dress, but if I could change one thing I would drop either the belt or the bow…or possibly even both!;) I think that the top of the dress and the bottom are more than enough to make this look perfect.

Octavia Spencer looks gorgeous in this French Vanilla coloured gown by Tadashi Shoji I was actually looking forward to seeing her dress as I loved what she had on for last years Oscars and she didn't disappoint me this time either:)

Jessica Chastain with her fair skin and red hair looks like a star from the twenties. Her Old Glamour look suits her perfectly even though I wasn't convinced about this look at first, after watching her flowing on the carpet I changed my mind and I think she is definitely rocking this Armani Prive gown.

Jennifer Lawrance  - She looks amazing in this Dior gown and even her falling down while coming up the stairs didn't ruin her appearance. She rocked it anyway :)

I would also add previously showed: Naomi Watts wearing a gown from Armani Prive, Charlize Theron in Dior and Nicole Kidman in sequinned L'Wren Scott dress.

And I couldn't not mention the adorable couples that showed up on the red carpet and didn't disappoint us by looking all glamorous and madly in love :)

Jennifer Garden in Gucci and Ben Affleck - one of those couples that were just meant to be.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban - they look so happy together!

Jennifer Aniston in Valentino and her husband to be Justin Theroux - what a glamorous couple!

Jenna Dewan - Tatum and Channing Tatum - I think they win the most adorable couple on the red carpet award :)

Have a great night Guys, hope you enjoy the read! :0

SS13 trends for everyone :)

Hi Guys! It's Friday! :) Make sure you make it as light and quite as possible ;) There is no better way to enter the Weekend than being already relaxed and ready for it!
On that 'quiet' day I want to talk trends a little. I don't consider trends something that we should blindly follow, but more like something we can get inspiration from and take the ones that suit us, or even mix them in different ways. A few years back checking out trends wasn't so much fun or even that necessary, as you could see them everywhere. The trends were strong, but they didn't vary too much, therefore they became boring. You could see everyone in similar kinds of clothes and there was not much room for freedom. Luckily, in the last few seasons this has changed drastically. Now the fashion shows are full of endless styles, colours and collections. That's what SS13 will be all about. Spring-Summer 2013 trends are definitely a triumph of freedom. There are so many fantastic inspirations that everyone will find something for themselves. What's handy is that we seem to go back to some of the themes and colours from the previous seasons, so we will definitely get use of the clothes from the last few years :)
Since SS13 is full of different inspirations I will show you a few of my favourites.

Black and White - you probably have noticed in the shops there are many many B&W options. This combo is great for everyone. You can mix it with a 'manly' trend and wear button upped shirts and pants, or pencil skirts. You can go for stripes and dots, and what's great about it is that absolutely everyone will find something in their closet in these colours ;) It's a good combo for people that don't feel good in colourful outfits but, at the same time, like to be trendy, but also for those crazier ones who can go for black and white leather combos :)

Colour blocking - there will be no single ‘main colour’ this season. The variety will be endless. Pastels, neons are making their come backs, yellow will be big this spring, silveremerald green, in fact all shades of green will be very popular, also many shades of blue, red, pink, orange, raspberry. So pretty much whatever you have in your closet will be 'in' ;)

If you are someone who likes the classier look, you will be delighted to hear that strait cuts, and simple ensembles, in one colour pallets will be an absolute hit this season. Go white on white, or cream and you will look great and very trendy ;)

Alexander Wang, Band of Outsiders, BCBG Max Azria, Cushnie et Ochs, Helmut Lang, Rang and Bone, Richard Chai Love, Theyskens’  Theory and Zero + Maria Cornejo

For the braver ones among us there will be a variety of shapes and patterns. We have puffy sleeves, asymmetrical tops, midi skirts, oversized coats and jackets and flowers. Fashion also takes aspects from interior design, so don't be surprised when you see the patterns from mosaic tiles on someone's dress :) Animal prints seem to be making a come back, check, and many, many geometrical patterns.

When it comes to textures, leather will still play a big part, along with denim, lace, tweed and loads and loads of silver shiny textures.

There will also be a wide variety of styles to inspire you:

A la Boyfriend - one of my favourites :) boyfriend jeans, oversized simple sweaters, hoodies and t-shirts

Suited up - suit pants, jackets, straight cut shirtswaistcoats and pencil skirts

Hippie - floral tops, lace, maxi skirts, loose chiffon shirts and dresses

Boho - big hats, midi chiffon skirts, booties and fur vests

50's, 60's, 70's - tweeds, trapezoid shaped skirts and dresses, hair bands and chunky heels

Sporty chic – another of my favourite trends. I love hoodies, and I love mixing sporty clothes with those that are slightly more elegant. If you love your sweats, now you can get more shapely ones, so you stay comfortable but you don't have to stick to ‘around the house’ or the gym only ;)

You can mix the styles and textures, patterns and colours and there is no going wrong here, as long as you do it with your own style and taste. Just remember - don't dress up as someone else, mix and match whatever you like and if you stay true to yourself I can guarantee you that you will rock whatever you wear! :)

Happy Friday Lovely people! :)

Mellifluous :)

Hello Guys! Today I have another look for you. I took those pictures last week - I'm pretty sure that was the only day when the sun was out, so I just had to wear my shades, just to feel a little bit 'summery' ;)
It wasn't out for long enough though, as the weather got worse the next day, and then today I woke up to the white world outside again…I know I like ‘some’ snow but seriously is this Winter ever going to end!?
The day I took those pictures I had few things to do, so I had to go for something comfortable, but I really didn't want to wear pants. So I decided to put this sequinned skirt on and dress it down for a more casual look. I've had this skirt for ages, but barely wore it, as I always thought I would need a special occasion to wear it. Of course the occasion took so long to come that when it did I completely forgot about the skirt and went for something different ;) I thought I had waited long enough so I decided to make it work on a casual day like this. I mixed it with a sweat shirt and added a white fury waistcoat to finish the look off.
I know not everyone would go for this kind of combo, as it mixes many styles - boho fur, sequinned mini skirt and sporty top, not to mention the wellies ;) But as you may have learned already, I just love mixing styles even those less obvious ones. Hope some of you Guys like it! ;)

By the way I will have some posts from my Weekend very soon, so stay tuned! :)
